Currently Lina is busy touring Europe with intl. Swedish super star Zara Larsson.
Dexter Hercules, a London-based professional drummer, has been playing the drums since he was 3 years old. He has already achieved an impressive repertoire of artists he’s played for, including Ronnie Wood, Emeli Sande, Little Mix, Lalah Hathaway, Theo Croker, Incognito, Pixie Lott, Stormzy, Olly Murs, Rita Ora, Boy George, Ashanti, Derrick Hodge, and many more. Dexter was the house band drummer for the hit TV show “The Voice UK” until 2023, and since then, he has been the drummer for Ed Sheeran.
Nic Collins, also appearing on the Main Stage Saturday 28th September at The UK Drum Show, picked up the sticks at the age of 3 and never looked back. Being the son of legendary drummer Phil Collins, Nic gravitated towards the instrument immediately. His first vivid memories come from his father’s “Final Farewell Tour” in 2004, where Nic was able to watch his dad play drums and sing every night, igniting his passion for music.
Growing up in Switzerland, Nic played drums as often as he could. However, it wasn’t until he moved to Miami, FL, and began playing in different local bands where his passion for drums amplified. In addition to his father, Nic cites John Bonham, Danny Carey, Taylor Hawkins, Gavin Harrison, Stewart Copeland, Abe Cunningham, Chad Smith, and Dave Grohl as his main drumming influences.
Nic began playing drums for his father’s solo band at the age of 14 for various charity events. Those charity events turned into more serious performances, such as the 2016 US Open opening ceremony, until he was finally asked to fill in full time in his father’s band for the “Not Dead Yet” world tour from 2017-2019. By the age of 18, Nic had already played at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, Madison Square Garden, and various other arenas and stadiums around the world. Shortly afterwards, Nic was announced as the drummer for Genesis’ first reunion in 14 years for “The Last Domino?” tour in 2021-2022. Following that, Nic took up drumming duties for Mike & The Mechanics on their 2023 “Refuelled” Tour.
Most recently, Nic announced the launch of a new band along with Trev Lukather, Emmett Stang, and Steve Maggiora called The Effect with their debut album scheduled for release in 2024. In addition to that, Nic is working on new material in his own band with longtime friends Yang Waingarten and Joey Rodriguez. Nic is dead set on making a global impact as a drummer and songwriter and hopes to inspire the next generation of drummers along the way.
Isac Jamba, also appearing in the Mike Johnston Education Room the weekend of the Show, is a Brazilian drummer, composer, and music producer with over 25 years of experience. Known globally for mastering Brazilian rhythms, especially within the vibrant realm of “Brazilian Jazz,” Isac Jamba’s influence goes beyond his performances. He stands out as a prominent music educator, sharing his expertise with audiences worldwide through enriching educational tours.
He also conducts Workshops and Master Classes in various countries, sharing his musical and educational expertise. Isac is also committed to social projects, teaching drumming to underprivileged and special-needs children, using music as a tool for inclusion and development.
Isac is a prolific composer, with numerous tracks released on platforms like Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and Deezer. His compositions are renowned for their versatility, inspiration, and ability to convey emotions through music.
Chris Turner, also appearing in the digitalDrummer E-Lab Room on Sunday 29th September at 10.30, is known as one of the most unique, powerful and tight drummers on the circuit, providing a rock-solid backbeat to his Metalcore band ‘Oceans Ate Alaska’. He is known worldwide for his fast, hard-hitting, and painstakingly precise playing pushing physical boundaries to playing the drums.
He strictly refuses the use of any triggers or samples to replace or enhance his drum sound, as well as refusing his work to be snapped onto a grid. “I get excited by a great performance, not by a great edit,” says Turner. His organic and traditional approach to recording, combined with his modern and creative playing is something not to be missed!
Chris was winner of the 2022 Drumeo Louie Bellson Award which recognises drummers who have displayed excellence and creativity in double bass drumming and also winner of 2017 Modern Drummer Up & Coming drummer award, the first UK drummer to win this category.
This masterclass with Chris will see him playing DWe, the world’s first convertible Acoustic/electronic drum kit and in particular demonstrate how this can help with improving the timing, accuracy, feel and power of your double bass playing.
This is an opportunity to get up close with one of the most respected and in-demand drummers at the leading edge of metal drumming and see him giving the first UK public performance of the revolutionary DWe wireless electronic kit.
Kevin Lehman, a Member of the PAS Drumset Committee and former PAS Colorado Chapter president, Kevin Lehman is passionate about drumset and rudimental drumming. He is an active PAS volunteer, performer and percussion educator.
