WTF Percussion
The goal of WTF Percussion is to design instruments that are as playable as acoustic instruments while creating sounds that have never been heard before!
Imagine if a guitar player would show up to a concert and ask the sound tech “Hey! Can you please distort my guitar in the PA?”
That’s pretty much where we are as drummers and percussionists when it comes to having control over our amplified sound. WTF Percussion wants to change that. Our big picture goal is having cats show up to a gig with as much control over their fx as keyboard players and guitar players have had forever.
Most percussion instruments do not have an effective, leakage proof way of being plugged into an audio interface. We’re bridging that gap with both modern takes on classic percussion instruments and completely novel ideas.
Founded in Stockholm in 2023, WTF Percussion is a young and hungry company that wants to change the status quo. Our name comes directly from our most important test; if you see a design and don’t immediately react “WTF!?!?!” it is probably not made by us.
