Tarian Drums Joins UK Drum Show Exhibitor Line-Up

today18 March, 2024

Background

Tarian Drums, stands to our knowledge, as the first drum manufacturer of its kind in Wales, marking a unique addition to the country’s rich musical legacy. Tarian wish to carve out a fresh narrative in Welsh music.  Quality craftsmanship is at the forefront of their business, with a passion to design, create and deliver handmade drums to their customers being uncompromised.

Using a variety of hand selected, sustainably sourced veneers from their local welsh suppliers Tarian hand build all their shells in house using tried and tested methods.

In a departure from mass-produced drums, they’ve returned to traditional building techniques that have stood the test of time in drum construction. Tarian believe these time-honoured traditions play a significant role in producing some of the finest drums on the market.

After extensive research and development, Tarian have crafted their own moulds and refined the process of constructing their shells layer by layer through a traditional cold-pressed method. Unlike mass production in heated moulds, their approach eliminates the impact of heat on their veneers. Tarian are firm believers that the absence of heat preserves the wood’s integrity, leaving its tonal qualities unaltered.

“We take immense pride in endorsing some exceptional musicians at Tarian Drums. Our artists play a crucial role in promoting and representing our brand across the music industry. Their dedication and artistry contribute to the vibrancy of the Tarian Drums community which as a new company we are always looking to expand.”

Tarian’s philosophy is straightforward: “create the highest-quality product while minimizing our environmental footprint.” “Given the nature of our company, this goal presents challenges, but we’ve implemented numerous measures to offset our impact.”

We have partnered with ‘One Tree Planted’ and we commit to plant a tree for every drum we sell. Each drum will come with a personalised certificate and a choice of where to plant your tree. By doing so you will be joining their mission to reforest the planet one tree at a time. We also do not use single use plastics in any of our products and attempt to eliminate any plastics from our packaging. Every finish we apply, from dyes and stains to paints and lacquers, is water-based. While this may add complexity and time to certain processes, it enables us to minimize the release of VOCs during the production of our drums.
