In addition to the Raw Brass snare drum announced last week, Ludwig is set for a busy NAMM show, with new kits, new hardware and a new (old) finish back from the 1960 to be announced this week.
Visitors to the Ludwig booth this September can therefore expect to see Ludwig’s NeuSonic kits. With six ply maple/cherry hybrid shells, pre-set bass drum spurs, four wrap finishes, the new kits come in two shell packs – 12/12/13 and 22/13/16 . UK distributor Active Music says they will sell (street) for £1,077.
Also new is Ludwig’s Evolution hardware, which comprises a Hi Hat stand/snare drum stand bass drum pedal 2, and twin boom stands. This will sell (street) for £266.
Finally, commemorating John Densmore of The Doors and celebrating the 50th year of Mod Orange, The Doors, and the “Swinging’ Scene”, Ludwig is reissuing Mod Orange for all USA series drums: Legacy, Classic Maple, Keystone X and Club Date. Like all other Vintage Oyster finish offerings from Ludwig, these are authentically produced by a hand blending process of materials to re-create the look.
We hope to give your our thoughts of these new kits and the Raw Brass snare over on sister site, www.drummersreview.com later this year.
