See Lucas on Saturday at 11:30 on the Main Stage Mini
At just 12 years old, Lucas has already built an impressive drumming journey. He first picked up the sticks at the age of five, after receiving his first e-drum kit from Santa—and he hasn’t looked back since. In 2024, his dedication and passion were recognised when he secured a top-40 place in the prestigious Zildjian Young Drummer of the Year 2025 competition.
Lucas began his musical path with group lessons at Rocksteady Music School, where his talent was quickly spotted and encouraged. Soon after, he moved on to one-to-one lessons at Jamm Studios, St Helens, studying under the expert guidance of Lee Davies, who mentored him until his untimely passing in early 2025. Lucas continues his development at Jamm Studios and now also receives monthly coaching from Richard Jupp in Manchester.
His first live performance came at just six years old, when he took to the stage at Jamm Studios with a powerful rendition of Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name.” That unforgettable moment ignited his love of performing and inspired him to explore a wide range of styles—from rock and pop to, more recently, jazz.
Lucas draws inspiration from legendary drummers including Dave Weckl, Aric Improta, El Estepario Siberiano, and his late mentor Lee Davies. With dreams of becoming both a professional drummer and teacher, Lucas embraces every opportunity to perform—whether with Jamm Studios or his high school rock band—always eager to challenge himself and share his passion for music.
