Tanay Shah is a 15-year-old drummer from Bengaluru, India, who has spent almost his whole life behind the kit. He first picked up the sticks at the age of five, and ten years on, the drums remain the place where he feels most at home.

Tanay trains under the noted percussionist Karthik Mani, and he loves playing across styles. His sound is shaped by players he admires most, including Ranjit Barot, Gino Banks, and Matt Garstka. Under Karthik’s guidance, he has performed on many stages, played alongside international brands, and even jammed with Gino Banks at a drum workshop.

He began making his mark early. At just seven, he took runner-up at a talent show, and has since won as a solo musician at several city competitions. That journey now brings him to one of his proudest moments yet, performing at the UK Drum Show 2026.

Away from the kit, Tanay brings the same enthusiasm to cycling and swimming, both of which he loves and excels at.
