Biography

Luca started playing the drums at the age of 3, thanks to his father, who also played drums. At the age of six, he started taking lessons from a drum teacher in a local music school. When he was 12 years old, he auditioned, and he got a spot in Alfredo Golino’s class at FreeStroke Drum School in Florence. This opportunity gave him the chance to improve a lot.

A few months later, the FreeStroke Drum School organised a drum camp with Virgil Donati, and Luca got a spot in the camp. So he had the pleasure of getting to know Virgil not only as a drummer but as a person.
After the camp, Luca did a lot of masterclasses, and he started a drum recording course with Cesare Chiodo (famous Italian bass player, music producer and composer).

Thanks to Alessandro Casci, the owner of the drum school, he had the chance to take part in a drum camp in Greece, where he got to know a lot of incredible drummers, such as Dave DiCenso, Gergo Borlai, Eric Moore, Chris Coleman, Baard Kolstad, Claus Hessler and Dali Mraz.

During these years, Luca also got the opportunity to build a closer relationship with Thomas Lang. They met so many times that Luca had the privilege of taking some private lessons when Thomas gave him really precious advice and exercises, on which Luca’s drum study routine is now based.

In the various drum camps that he took part in, Luca met very famous drummers, such as Riccardo Merlini, Kai Hahto, Art Cruz, Krihm, James Payne, Alex Cohen, Brandon Toews (Drumeo), Benny Greb and Dave Weckl (having the honour to play a duet with Dave during a drum camp in France).

Now Luca is studying hard on his strict daily routine to become a professional drummer and to make his passion his future job!
