I’m a 12-year-old drummer, and playing drums isn’t just something I do; it’s who I am. I’ve been around drums for as long as I can remember. My dad is a drummer too, and I was holding my dad’s drumsticks before I could even walk. From the moment I first picked them up, I knew I wanted to be a drummer. Even at nursery, my teacher set up pots and pans in the playground just so I could create beats.
My first kit was a Roland electric kit, which meant I could practise at any time of the day and really helped me develop quickly. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t play my drums and push myself to get better.
By the age of 10, I completed my Grade 1–8 drum qualifications through Trinity Rock & Pop, which I’m really proud of. Since then, I’ve continued to challenge myself across a wide range of styles, including soul, jazz, metal, and even orchestral performances. Recently, I started performing in a large-scale School of Rock production, which has been an amazing experience and helped me grow as a live performer.
For the past two years, I’ve been honoured to place in the Top 40 of the UK Young Drummer of the Year competition, and I’m determined to keep improving and aim even higher.
I’ve been heavily inspired by Travis Barker and Aric Improta, who have both shaped my style, creativity, and ambition. My goal is to travel the world as a professional session drummer, playing with as many artists and bands as possible.
Being selected to perform at the UK Drum Show would be an incredible opportunity for me to share my passion, perform on a bigger stage, and continue pushing myself as a musician.
