Biography

Tommy is a drummer from Welshpool Wales aged 15. As a kid he’s always had rhythm and loved banging on anything with sticks he would find in the garden, building makeshift drum kits out of some boxes, tins and old filing cabinets at any opportunity!

Tommy picked up drumming in lockdown with a tabletop drumkit Christmas present, and then once he’d worn that out, he upgraded to full E-kit to progress his skills. His first acoustic kit was a dragon drums charity shop bargain buy which he played all the way home in the back of Dad’s van and hasn’t stopped since steadily upgrading his kit over the last couple of years and developed a fine skill of tuning by ear.

Tommy absolutely lives for drums, practicing every day without fail, along with being mentored by his drum tutor Jon Harvey via zoom in his drum shed, working through the Rock School Drums exam books up to grade 5 so far getting a distinction for every exam taken.

He also plays with his school’s Jazz and Concert band, playing through pieces for concerts and more, along with being drummer in a local cover band called “Good Call” in which he plays Post-punk, Rock & Blues.

When Tommy is on the kit he’s usually jamming out to some of his favorite genres & artists including Post-Punk Revival, Drum and Bass, Electronic, Rock, Jungle, House and Funk, His inspirational artists are Loyle Carner, Leftfield, Interpol, Black Midi, Burial, Bloc Party, Daft Punk, Thievery corporation, with Richard Spaven, Sam Fogarino, Matt Helders, Morgan Simpson & Zackgrooves being his biggest idols on the sticks to name just few although this whole list could be endless!

Only recently, Red Cymbals, signed him up to the amazing family of Red Ambassadors, a fantastic opportunity unlike anything else he’d ever had before, enabling him to go onto to grow in confidence and providing support for performances such as this!

Tommy is extremely excited for his spot on the Main Stage Mini, and is really looking forward to showcasing his skills on the stage!
