Introducing Mia Mallari, a 10-year-old drummer from Portsmouth. At the age of 6, Mia discovered her passion for drums, and from that moment on, she’s been unstoppable. She dove into the world of Trinity College Rock and Pop grades with fervor, completing them all by the time she turned 8.

After conquering the grade challenges, Mia decided to focus on refining her skills, seeking guidance from mentors like Russell Tarley and Ciara Chinniah. Her dedication paid off when she earned a spot in the top 40 of the Young Drummer of the Year 2023 competition at just 9 years old.

But Mia’s aspirations extend far beyond competitions and grades. She’s eager to explore new horizons, both musically and culturally. A recent trip to Japan allowed her to connect with fellow drummers like Teru, Iroha, and Shy, whom she had met through Instagram. Mia’s love for travel and meeting new people knows no bounds, and she’s already planning her next adventure.

In addition to her musical journey, Mia has found support from the drumming community, including an endorsement from Red Cymbals, an Australian brand. Dylan, the brand’s owner, has been a guiding light for Mia, offering advice and encouragement as she continues to pursue her passion.

When it comes to influences, Mia looks up to drummers like Tomoya Kanki from One Ok Rock for his unique style and passion.
