Emerson started playing drums when he was 4 years old, working his way through the Rich Redmond FUNdamentals of Drumming for Kids book before taking lessons. Since then he hasn’t stopped – you will rarely see him without a pair of sticks in his hands.

He loves all styles of music but thanks to his older sisters CD collection, his early influences are from the rock and pop-punk world such as Travis Barker, Frank Zummo, Chuck Comeau, Tre Cool, Taylor Hawkins, Dave Grohl, John Fred Young etc. All high energy, powerhouse drummers whose influence is clearly shown in Emersons own drumming style.

Highlights so far for Emerson have been; Playing the role of Freddy in the School of Rock Musical, where he travelled around the UK & Ireland playing the drums on big stages for just over a year and performing on the Blue Peter Children In Need special; Meeting the band Simple Plan and joining them on stage to play drums at soundcheck during their recent tour and Emersons band supporting King Herd, whose drummer Karl Brazil is also one of Emersons drumming idols.

Last year Emerson, his brother Joel (bass) and their friend Blake (vocals & guitar) formed the band Over:Dramatics. They have spent the last few months writing their own songs and are now enjoying performing these at various venues and festivals.
