Hi, my name is Ben and I am 16 years and old from East London. I have just completed my GCSEs and I am absolutely thrilled to be given this opportunity to perform at The UK Drum Show 2024. I have been drumming since I was 8 years old. My interest in drumming arose when my Grandad brought home a toy drum set and I immediately felt at home behind the kit. A short while after, I bought my first ever drum set.

I have never had a lesson on a kit and I am completely self taught. My favourite genre to play is pop punk, as Travis Barker is one of my biggest inspirations. When I first began drumming I was very closed off to learning different genres and widening my skills behind the kit, however within the last 2 years I have now opened myself to Jazz, Metal and Funk etc. Learning these new styles has been a challenge but I feel it has really opened up my ability on the kit.

My dream with drumming is that one day I will be able to play in the west end pits as I absolutely love playing and learning different musicals. I have a real passion for this and I will work as hard as I possibly can to make it within the industry. I would also love to become a successful session musician hopefully getting to work with a wide range of musicians across the world.

This will be my first year attending The UK Drum Show and I am extremely grateful that I have also been given the opportunity to perform on the Main Stage Mini!
