De Broize Custom is an independent UK Drum Company specialising in creating hand crafted stave drums from reclaimed and recycled materials. Each instrument has a Unique History, True Identity and Rare Character.

13×5.5 Mahogany – originally a 1970’s School Table

Samuel de Broize-Ward founded the company in early 2016 following the passing of his late grandfather, Kenneth de Broize (1936-2016) – an inspiring character and wood working enthusiast. In memory of his passing, Samuel decided to build his first truly custom stave snare drum; using his grandfather’s tools and parts from his family home. This only resulted in a new addiction and drive to hone a new craft.

The UK produces around 4 million tonnes of timber waste a year. With a focus on sustainability and recycling, De Broize Custom maintains a green initiative by making the most out of reclaimed and repurposed materials. Source material has ranged from 1960’s solid Beech cabinets, 1970’s Mahogany school tables, beams from churches and much more.
